Jeffrey Preston Bezos was actually born by the name Jeffery Preston Jorgensen on January 12th 1964. The son of Jaclyn guys Jorgensen who was a high school student at the time. Ted Jorgensen a humble bike shop owner knew his father could only watch as his wife and son walked out on his life forever early on in Jeff's life. The man has priorities or rather he did no Ted he died in 2015. Soon after Jaclyn divorced Ted she married Miguel Mike Bezos a Cuban immigrant. After their wedding Mike adopted four-year-old Jeff whose surname was then legally changed to Bezos. Now the family picked up and moved to Houston Texas where Mike he worked as an engineer for Exxon. In Texas Jeff he attended River Oaks Elementary School in Houston. His maternal grandfather Lawrence Preston was a former regional director of the US Atomic Energy Commission in nearby Albuquerque. Young Bezos would spend many summers with his granddaddy working in the family ranch near Cotulla.

A ranch II would later purchase himself and expand from a humble abode of 25 thousand acres to something with a little more leg room. There he gave a speech that was described as such, "As the valedictorian of Miami Palmetto Senior High School's class of 1982, Bezos used his graduation speech to unfurl his vision for Humanity. He dreamed aloud of the day where millions of his fellow Earthlings would relocate to colonies in space. A local newspaper reported that his intention was to get all people off the earth and see it turned into a huge national park. He acted as a product manager at Bankers Trust from 88 to 90 before joining DE Shaw & Co, a newly formed hedge fund with a strong emphasis on math. Then, he became the senior vice president at the age of 30 and he worked there until 1994. It was while working there that Bezos he first met Mackenzie Tuttle, a research associate at the firm. Afterwards, the two were Wed a year later and they would go on to be parents to four children, three sons and a daughter adopted from China.

In late 93 and early 94 when Jeff Bezos life would change forever. Then he decided to quit his cushy day job at DE Sha and jump in his car drive across the country from New York to Seattle and take a chance on his dream. He wanted to create the world's first online bookstore. July 5th is the day that Jeff started selling books out of his garage to people all over the world. Long before, a vast majority of the world's population even knew something like this was an option. Now Jeff he almost named his company Cadabra but he decided in the last moment not to because it wasn't a good name. He himself told in one of his interview. He said that, "So the first name of the company was Cadabra Inc and it comes second half of abracadabra. When I called the lawyer on a cell phone and said Cadabra Inc, he said cadaver and didn't you know was pretty obvious that that wasn't a very good name." Initially Jeff helped finance the company with a $300,000 loan from mom and pop who were resistant and in disbelief that he would trade in his high-profile Wall Street job to sell books on the worldwide web. At the time what the hell was that? No Jeff he was quick to warn each and every investor that there was a very good chance that the company it could fail or go bankrupt.

In the first year of opening Amazon the come to the public they didn't do any paid advertising and all of their growth was fueled by word of mouth and media exposure. But by pursuing his mantra of get big fast within three years, he was taking the company public. Despite criticism of his business model will he always maintained that the growth of the Internet, it would eventually overtake his primary competitors in the big box stars. We're talking borders and Barnes and Noble. By 1990 he made good on his promise to be more than just the bookstore. Diversifying and expanding his product lines to include consumers goods of all types. We're talking music, home videos and then well today you can basically get anything. Bezos childhood ambition finally began to take shape in 2000 when he launched Blue Origin an aerospace manufacturer and suborbital spaceflight service company that he spent nearly a billion dollars a year funding but don't worry we're seeing real results. In 2002 Bezos he launched Amazon Web service to gather data from weather channels and website traffic but that same year Bezos and Amazon they experienced its first real downward swing.

Rapid spending was causing undue strain on a stagnating revenue stream and the company it nearly went bankrupt. Bezos closed distribution centers and laid off around 14% of his workforce. Then as if things weren't already bad enough. In March of 2003 while Bezos was one of the three passengers in a helicopter that crashed in West Texas after the crafts tail hit a tree. Thankfully there were no fatalities. And Bezos will he only sustained minor injuries being released from hospital that very same day. The later that year Amazon had bounced back in a big way turning a profit of 400 million dollars. By 2007 Bezos was launching the Amazon Kindle with a design to initiate readers into a whole new way to experience the medium. During the launch he told some of his lines are: "You decide you're gonna reinvent something that has been around for five centuries. You are gonna rightly receive some skepticism." During the early parts of this decade is when Bezos public image began to shift, he started weight training, wearing tailored suits and enacting a complete physical overhaul and going from this to what he's today. Whatever you want about him the man is clearly committed. To learning from and following in the footsteps of the great space explorers who came before him. Jeff's success he grew hand in hand with his ambitions and by 2013 well Bezos secured a six hundred million dollar contract with the CIA to utilize his Amazon Web Services.

Later that same year Amazon was recognized as the largest online shopping retailer in the world. His next big breakthrough was a little device you may refer to as Alexa. Now he stated that the original goal was to create a Star Trek computer. I think you did just that. Also in 2016 well Jeff he was given the honor of appearing in a Star Trek production. Way 2017 his wealth surpassed 100 billion dollars and he was formally designated the wealthiest person in the world by Forbes in March of 2018 with a net worth of one hundred and twelve billion dollars. But not long after he would also enter into the world's most expensive divorce. After the divorce he gave $38.3 billion worth of Amazon stock to his wife. The previous record was just of $2.5bn paid to Jocelyn Wildenstein when she divorced art dealer Alec Wildenstein in 1999. This is 20 times more expensive than last divorce. Today Jeff is the richest person in the world with net worth of $193.5B. He also currently donated $100M for the pandemic situation of Covid 19. Bezos is also making about $321 million a day, $13.4 million an hour, $222,884 a minute, and $3,715 a second this year.
